Initial Rider Training manual highlighted in Good Practice guide
|
The European research initative eSUM puts together a guide of best practices in urban powered two-wheeler safety. The Initial Rider Training (IRT) project is found among positive efforts towards better safety for all. |
Launched in June 2008 with the support of the European Commission, the eSUM projects brings together European local authorities and the motorcycle industry in order to make urban riding safer through a variety of measures. The Initial Rider Training project features prominently in eSUM's PTW Good Practice Guide, which offers European researchers and policy-makers a comprehensive list of positive measures to improve PTW safety. The guide, presented at the eSUM mid-term workshop in Brussels on January 28th, 2010, features over 100 projects in the areas of training, infrastructure, enforcement, vehicle design, protective equipment and transport policies.
